This Memorial Day

Euri Lighting donates LED bulbs to the renovation of The USS Hornet Museum in Alameda, California. “The USS Hornet Sea, Air & Space Museum connects the greatest generation of Americans with future generations, educating and inspiring them to meet their challenges.”

In honor of Memorial Day and Military Appreciation Month, we want to recognize and show appreciation to The Aircraft Carrier Hornet Foundation and The Wounded Warrior Project.

The authentically restored naval aircraft, USS Hornet, served in World War II and Vietnam, her last mission being the recovery of Apollo 11 and 12 astronauts in 1969 and 1970. A national and state historic landmark, the USS Hornet Museum, gives attendees the chance to view and tour the aircraft, in addition to the long list of educational programs available to local youth! Ranked #1 in Alameda on Trip Advisor, the museum honors and celebrates the American Armed Forces all year long.

Just in time for Military Appreciation Month events, the museum recently received a lighting renovation with Euri Lighting’s CEC Certified A21s.

Every fixture has its own style, let’s take a sneak peek at just three of the players coming this summer:

These LED bulbs (right) replaced traditional lighting (left), helping the twenty-year-old museum get on board with California’s growing initiative to save energy and reduce carbon emissions.

These LED bulbs were installed above one of the museum’s flight simulators — and as you can see the switch to LED makes a difference!

This flight simulator and all other museum displays can be seen and toured at the museum’s annual Memorial Day Ceremony. Visit the event to watch the wreath toss presentation, join in on on-deck activities, meet veterans and celebrate the American Military!

Euri Lighting supports and appreciates all of the admirable work done by The Aircraft Carrier Hornet Foundation and The Wounded Warrior Project, an admirable charity that offers help and various services for wounded veterans. This Memorial Day, find ways to volunteer and give back to those who have given all.
